PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair with a leg exercising mechanism, which allows planterflexion and dorsiflexion exercise of ankle joints to effectively develop blood pumping action by the leg muscles, and is foldable with a simple mechanism.SOLUTION: A wheelchair 10 includes: a pair of main wheels 1a provided on both sides of a seat 11; a free wheel 40a provided in front of each main wheel 1a under the seat 11, the free wheel being rotatable in all directions; and a pair of footrests 30a which can be housed on both sides of the forward downside of the seat 11. The wheelchair further includes: a both feet placing means 8 on which both feet can be placed, both ends of both feet placing means 8 being pivotally supported at the forward downside of the seat in such a manner as to be rotatable and attachable/detachable; a housing means 32a provided on the front side of the forward downside of the seat 11, the housing means rotatably and detachably holding at least one end of both the ends of both feet placing means 8; and a crank mechanism which converts the rotation of one main wheel 1a to a reciprocating motion. When the one main wheel 1a is rotated by the crank mechanism, the rear end of both feet placing means 8 is vertically moved. |
