The method involves manufacturing a gearing (20) at a component, and forming recesses on a partial region of the gearing by sandblast, shot-peening, bead blasting or dry ice blasting. A partial region exhibiting the recesses is rolled such that roughness tips at land areas between the recesses are eliminated. The recesses are filled by lubricant i.e. solid lubricant. A cladding surface is defined according to a geometric shape of the gearing by the land areas between the recesses, where the recesses have maximum depth of about less than or equal to 50 micrometers after the rolling process. The lubricant is grease or graphite. An independent claim is also included for a geared component.
