NOVEL PEPTIDE WITH COLLAGENASE INHIBITORY ACTIVITY AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A novel peptide which is derived from natural products and suppresses collagenase activity and a composition containing the same are provided to show stability without cytotoxicity and to enable long-term use. CONSTITUTION: A peptide for suppressing collagenase activity has one kind of amino acid sequence selected among sequence numbers 1-5. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating collagenase-mediated diseases contains 0.1 ug/ml to 50 mg/ml of the peptide as an active ingredient. The collagenase-mediated diseases are selected among osteoporosis, metastatic bone marrow cancer, corneal ulcer, periodontal diseases, inflammatory joint diseases, skin inflammatory diseases, wound, and burn.
