A weighing scale system comprising: a base unit 2 including circuitry; at least one interface-component 6; and at least one attachment-point to detachably receive the interface-component; and at least one electrical connection point allowing communication between the circuitry and interface-component. An attachment-point may be adapted to selectively receive a specific interface-component. The system may further comprise a tower which comprises at least one attachment-point where an interface-component received therein may be adapted to provide an attachment-point for another interface-component. The base unit may comprise a tower attachment point; the tower attachment point may also be an attachment-point for an interface-component; the tower attachment point may be configured as a tower storage port where the storage port may be positioned behind an attachment-point so blocking the storage port entrance when an interface-component is attached. An attachment-point may comprise an electrical connection point comprising contacts to interface with an interface-component. At least one electrical connection point may be provided on the base unit remote from the attachment-points where communication between the circuitry and interface-component is via a wire; the wire may comprise a plug/connector removable from the electrical connection point or interface-component. Wire slack may be taken up in the base unit. |
