PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preparing a radiation shielding material in which elution of harmful substances such as lead from lead-containing glass is prevented by utilizing the lead-containing glass such as waste cathode ray tube glass and effectively applying the radiation shielding material to treatment of soil or waste contaminated with radioactive substances.SOLUTION: The radiation shielding material is prepared by granulating or molding and drying water slurry containing debris of lead-containing glass such as waste cathode ray tube glass and magnesium oxide. The radiation shielding material is laid on the surface of soil contaminated with radioactive substances. |
