PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of water to be treated containing inorganic sludge which can reduce the amount of wastewater. SOLUTION: A solution obtained by dissolving an amphoteric polymer coagulant consisting of a polymer having a constitutional unit derived from a monomer having a carboxyl group and a constitutional unit derived from a monomer represented by formula (1) or a monomer represented by formula (2) in filtered water obtained by dehydrating treated water containing flocculating agent is used as a dehydrating agent. In formula (1) or (2), R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or methyl; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are a hydrogen atom or 1-4C alkyl; R<SP>4</SP>is 1-4C alkyl or benzyl; and Z<SP>-</SP>is Cl<SP>-</SP>or 1/2SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>.
