PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation of orientation angle in a width direction to be caused by widthwise contraction of an obliquely stretched film, and to achieve satisfactory optical characteristics over the entire film surface.SOLUTION: In an obliquely stretching step, one widthwise end of a film is conveyed relatively earlier, and the other end is conveyed relatively later, to stretch the film in an oblique direction with respect to the width direction. In a take-up step, the film F obliquely stretched and conveyed is taken up. In a conveyance regulating step, conveyance of the obliquely stretched film F is partially regulated in the width direction before taking up the film F. More specifically, in the conveyance regulating step, when the stretched film F is divided into two or more regions in the width direction, conveyance of the film F is partially regulated in the width direction so that the resistance in the direction opposite the take-up direction of the film F is larger at least in the top region R1 than any other regions R2. |
