PURPOSE: A device and method for grinding the end surface of a glass substrate and a manufacturing method of a glass substrate are provided to grind a glass substrate in a specific shape by removing the angular portions of the end surface of the glass substrate. CONSTITUTION: A device for grinding the end surface of a glass substrate comprises a primary end surface grinding unit and a secondary end surface grinding unit. The primary and secondary end surface grinding units are successively installed on a glass substrate transfer path. Each of the primary and secondary end surface grinding units has a cylindrical grinding wheel (132) having a groove (133). The opening angle (31) of the groove formed on the grinding wheel of the primary end surface grinding unit is larger than the opening degree of the groove formed on the grinding wheel of the secondary end surface grinding unit.
