PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink container and a printer which allow identification of the type of a bottle as an ink container to easily recognize a pipeline connection position and easily determine whether the ink container is held by a holding unit or not to facilitate recycling of the ink container.SOLUTION: An ink supply bottle 110 includes a film-like aluminum lid 142 sealing an ink supply port 140a, an annular reinforcing tape 144 which is pasted on the surface of the aluminum lid 142 and has rigidity or elasticity higher than that of the aluminum lid 142, and an elastically deformable film member 146 at least part of which is pasted on the inner surface of the aluminum lid 142 corresponding to the back face of the reinforcing tape 144. Whether the ink supply bottle 110 is held by a bottle holding unit or not is determined based on a light reception pattern created by a difference between the reflection factors of the aluminum lid 142, the reinforcing tape 144, and the film member 146 that reflect detection light emitted on their surfaces. |
