PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can more reliably remove an ink residue adhered to a discharge port forming surface and can be further downsized.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head 4 which has a discharge port forming surface 4a in which discharge ports for discharging ink are formed, a carriage which has the recording head 4 and moves, and a sheet member 10 which is impregnated with an anti-adhesion liquid and rubbed against the discharge port forming surface 4a. The apparatus includes a control means which applies the anti-adhesion liquid infiltrating the sheet member 10 to the discharge port forming surface 4a by moving the carriage with a portion of the sheet member 10 pressed against the discharge port forming surface 4a and then wipes the discharge port forming surface 4a with the portion by moving the carriage with the portion pressed against the discharge port forming surface 4a once again. |
