The method involves obtaining a field of view associated with a client entity i.e. smartphone (10), and determining a portion of a plan as a function of the observation field from information relating to a space capacity for the restitution of the smartphone. A distribution request is sent by a distribution entity (20) related to the portion of the plan, and an elementary video stream associated with the portion of the plan is received from the distribution entity, where video content is returned to the smartphone from the elementary video stream associated with the portion of the plan. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an equipment forming a client entity arranged to cooperate with equipment forming a distribution entity for receiving immersive video content (2) a system for distribution of immersive video content (3) a program for receiving immersive video content by a client entity (4) a recording medium readable by equipment and storing a program for receiving immersive video content by a client entity.
