Coiling method and device for a strip

The method involves coiling the strip (2) to a collar (4) around a collar axis (3) in a coiling unit (1) with multiple windings (5) radially lying one above another. The coiled collar is protected against unintentional uncoiling in the coiling unit by fixing the radially outermost winding by a safety device relative to an inwardly lying winding. The reeled collar protected against unintentional uncoiling is removed from the coiling unit together with the safety device by a conveying unit (12). An independent claim is included for a coiling system for a strip.
