<p>The method involves transporting a material strip (4) through rolling stands (2.1-2.3, 2.6, 2.7), and continuously determining a width difference between a current width of a tape end section and a current width of a belt section of the material strip during the transportation of the material strip. A tape tension in the tape end section is adjusted depending on the determined width difference when the tape end section is totally or partially held between the rolling stands by loop lifters (3.1, 3.2, 3.6) such that the width difference is reduced.</p> |
