Sign color comprises (a) 10-50 wt.% of a coloring substance, (b) 5-10 wt.% of a water-soluble polymer comprising polyethylene glycol, (c) 0.1-5 wt.% of water, and (d) 100 wt.% of a viscous and hygroscopic substance including glycerol. An independent claim is included for producing a sign color, which is adapted for the application of marking points on glasses, comprising (a) concentrating 10-50 wt.% of pigment with 5-10 wt.% of concentrated water soluble polymer, (b) adding 0.1-5 wt.% of water and 100 wt.% of viscous and hygroscopic substance to the concentrated mixture, and (c) mixing the added component under ambient conditions to form a homogeneous suspension.
