PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information terminal and an input method that enable efficient character input by reducing the number of times of input operations.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 1 includes a touch panel display 2, a click operation detection section 32, a database 4 and a character input control section 50. The click operation detection section 32 detects a press on an operation surface 2a of the touch panel display 2. The database 4 stores a display character displayed on the touch panel display 2 as a key 51 for character input and at least one counterpart stored in association with the display character. The character input control section 50 accepts the input of any of the display and counterpart on the basis of whether there is a click on the operation surface 2a at the touch of the display or on the basis of the number of presses. |
