PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electric double layer capacitor using a solid electrolyte layer in place of an electrolyte solution.SOLUTION: A solid electric double layer capacitor 1 includes two electrodes 2, 3, and an electrolyte layer 4 sandwiched by the electrodes 2, 3. The electrolyte layer 4 has a configuration made of a solid electrolyte comprising Li(BH)X(0≤n≤0.75, where, X is I or Br). The solid electrolyte may be any of LiBH, Li(BH)I, and Li(BH)Br. The solid electric double layer capacitor of this invention does not cause liquid leakage and can be used at a temperature higher than room temperature because of using no electrolyte solution used in a conventional electric double layer capacitor. |
