PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device, a brightness processing method, and a program which achieve the improvement in visibility of a projection image.SOLUTION: An image projection device includes: an acquisition section 22 for acquiring a first ratio as a ratio of a second distance as a distance from a projection section 33 for projecting a projection image to a second point on a projection area on which the projection image is projected to a first distance as a distance from the projection section 33 to a first point on the projection area; an estimation section 24 for estimating the brightness of each divided area obtained by dividing the projection area by using the first ratio; and a brightness processing section 25 for performing brightness processing according to the brightness of the divided areas corresponding to areas on the projection image on the areas on the projection image corresponding to each divided area.
