<p>An apparatus and a method for manufacturing an absorbent body that can reduce effects of an outside air intruding into the duct 31 on the uniform dispersion of a superabsorbent polymer 5 is provided. An apparatus for manufacturing 10 an absorbent body 1, including a recessed form die 21 formed on a predetermined face 20a of a predetermined member 20, moving in one direction along a moving path along the predetermined face 20a; a duct 31 disposed in a predetermined position in the moving path, discharging a gas 3 including fluid absorbent fibers 2 from an opening section 31a toward the predetermined face 20a; and a polymer casting member 38 disposed inside the duct 31, casting a superabsorbent polymer 5 from a casting opening 38a toward a center area Ac of the opening section 31a in a direction along the moving path, wherein in the case of the form die 21 passing the duct 31 position, by the gas 3 being sucked through air intake holes in a bottom section of the form die 21, the fluid absorbent fibers 2 and the superabsorbent polymer 5 in the gas 3 are stacked in the form die 21 to form an absorbent body 1, wherein an air pressure inside the duct 31 is made lower than the air pressure outside the duct 31 because of the gas 3 being sucked through the bottom section of the form die 21, wherein a duct-inner-wall section 41 is inside the duct 31 and is disposed facing an inner wall face 33a of a wall section 33 of the duct 31 with a spacing therebetween, the wall section 33 having a gap G between the predetermined face 20a and the opening section 31a of the duct 31, and an outside air intrudes into the duct 31 along the moving path through the gap G, and the duct-inner-wall section 41 restricts the outside air intruding into the duct 31 through the gap G flowing into the center area Ac of the duct 31.</p> |
