PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing device capable of making compatible the prevention of the accumulation of static electricity and satisfactory durability. SOLUTION: The fluid bearing device 10 used in a spindle motor 1 for hard disk drive is provided with, as a lubricating fluid 17, a lubricant composition containing ester oil as base oil and 0.01-3 wt.% of a polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester-based compound based on the whole lubricant composition.
