<p>A method and system for detecting anomalies, such as debris, on or near the underside of vehicles 10, comprises one or more cameras 14 arranged to capture one or more images of the underside of a car or other vehicle; a computing device in communication with the one or more cameras and comprising a means to display images; wherein the computing device is configured to: receive one or more images of at least part of the underside of a vehicle captured by the one or more cameras, receive identification information relating to the vehicle (e.g. its license plate), retrieve an image of the underside of a vehicle from a database, compare the retrieved image with the one or more images captured, determine differences between the retrieved image and the one or more captured images, and display a visual indication of the differences. The cameras may be housed in a mat 12, and may be time-of-flight cameras. Independent claims are also included for an image-capture device, and a system for simulating detection of anomalies on the underside of vehicles using trigger markers.</p> |
