PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for the biological treatment of oil and fat-containing wastewater capable of efficiently biologically treating oils and fats in oil and fat containing wastewater.SOLUTION: An oil and fat-containing wastewater treatment apparatus 1 includes a treatment tank unit having at least first and second treatment tanks 10 and 12 for biologically treating oil and fat-containing wastewater, and an iron salt supply device 14 for supplying an iron salt to the first treatment tank 10. The iron salt supply device 14 supplies the iron salt to the first treatment tank 10 so that the total amount per oil and fat-containing wastewater unit volume becomes 1.0×10or above in the weight ratio of iron relative to the load amount of a normal hexane extraction substance per the oil and fat-containing wastewater unit volume. |
