A contact material which constitutes a fuel sender slider moving on a conductor in synchronization with a float that moves in accordance with a liquid level, consisting of 10 to 25 mass% of nickel and the balance palladium. The contact material is also advantageous from the standpoints of corrosion resistance, durability and material cost. A fuel sender according to the present invention is useful for FFV or other vehicles using an alcohol-containing mixed fuel. The present invention makes it possible to produce a fuel sender slider with excellent corrosion resistance and excellent abrasion resistance.
