PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure which effectively prevents the displacement of the vertical position of a steering wheel on a secondary collision and causes no unpleasant vibration or noise when the vertical position is adjusted. SOLUTION: In a vertically fixed state of the steering wheel, an eccentric cam 23a for a tilt lock is engaged with a curved edge 54 of a support bracket 12c as shown in (A). When the vertical position of the steering wheel is adjusted, the eccentric cam 23a for a tilt lock is engaged with a step surface 46 at an outer column 13b side as shown in (B) to prevent rubbing between the eccentric cam 23a for a tilt lock and the curved edge part 54.
