PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee the operation life for a long period of time without any obstacles by, when necessary, detecting water and interrupting energy supplying to perform sealing in a ship sealed a partition wall in the region of a shaft duct.SOLUTION: A piston 20 can be adjusted to the termination position of a piston chamber 19 via a controllable pressure medium. Accordingly, against the forces of a compression spring 21 added above the piston 20 and the ring spring 12 of a pressure ring 11, the segments of packing rings 5 and 6 are lifted at an interval to a shaft 4, and the piston 20 can be displaced downward via the compression spring 21 in a no-pressure state. The ring spring 12 can bring the segments of the packing rings 5 and 6 into contact with the shaft for close contact to the shaft 4. |
