PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of pixels when operation of a change in gradation of the pixels is newly started in a course of the change in gradation of the pixels.SOLUTION: When contents of a buffer A (i, j) are changed to the contents for changing a pixel to white in a course of writing operation for changing pixels to black, a voltage for changing the pixels to white is applied to the pixels the same number of times as the number of times of application of a voltage for changing the pixels to black, and the number of times of application of the voltage for changing the pixels to black is caused to be the same as that of the voltage for changing the pixels to white. Further, when the contents of the buffer A (i, j) are changed to the contents for changing the pixel to black in a course of writing operation for changing the pixels to white, the voltage for changing the pixels to black is applied to the pixels the same number of times as the number of times of application of the voltage for changing the pixels to white, and the number of times of application of the voltage for changing the pixels to black is caused to be the same as that of the voltage for changing the pixels to white. |
