The invention addresses the problem of providing a stress assessment device that is capable of assessing mental stress without having other prior knowledge and with no burden on an observer or an employee. This stress assessment device (10) is provided with: a work behavior acquisition unit (101) that acquires/processes a work behavior time-series pattern that is information that indicates a work behavior in the time unit of each employee; a unique behavior time-series pattern computation unit (102) that, using the work behavior time-series pattern, computes a unique behavior time-series pattern that is information that indicates the standard work behavior of the employee; and a stress state assessment unit (103). Said stress state assessment unit (103): computes a reconstruction precision level that indicates the degree to which the work behavior time-series pattern of the employee matches the unique behavior time-series pattern of said employee; and on the basis of the computed reconstruction precision level, assesses/processes the stress state of the employee.
