PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in durability and capable of suppressing deposition of an external additive that has dropped or separated from a toner, and maintaining high picture qualities with good resolution for a long period of time even when the photoreceptor is repeatedly used.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer and a surface protective layer on the substrate. The surface protective layer includes: at least two types of metal oxide particles having different average particle diameters; and a dispersant. Metal oxide particles having the smallest average particle diameter in the at least two types of metal oxide particles having different average particle diameters are surface-treated metal oxide particles subjected to a surface treatment. An average particle diameter d1 (μm) of the metal oxide particles having the largest average particle diameter in the at least two types of metal oxide particles having different average particle diameters, and an average particle diameter d2 (μm) of the metal oxide particles having the smallest average particle diameter satisfy the relationship of expression (1):10×d2≥d1≥6×d2. |
