PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant and/or fire-resistant engineering polymer composition, which has the combination of preferable characteristics including melt processability, mechanical characteristics, thermal stability, operating temperature and such a thing, and which contains no halogenated or metal-containing flame-retardant additive.SOLUTION: A flame-retardant and/or fire-resistant engineering polymer composition is related to: compositions including engineering plastics, melamine, melamine salts or melamine derivatives, and straight chain or branched polyphosphonates or copolyphosphonates, which exhibit excellent processing characteristics, thermal and mechanical characteristics and flame resistance; and articles of manufacture that are manufactured from these materials, wherein the articles of manufacture are fibers, films, coated substrates, moldings, foams, fiber-reinforced products, or every combination of them, or the like. |
