The present invention is applicable to the field of telecommunications, and provides an information processing method and device. The method comprises: receiving information input by a user, the information being in a first format; segmenting the information based on the capacity for information in the first format to obtain the number of segments of the information; and sending, when the number of segments of the information is greater than a preset switching number of segments, the information in a second format. The present invention segments information input by a user and compares the obtained number of segments of the information and a preset switching number of segments, so that when the information is being sent, a format of sending the information can be automatically adjusted according to the length of the current information, and therefore the manner of sending information dynamically adapts to changes of a tariff policy of a carrier, thereby greatly saving the communications cost of a user. |
