PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug and a method of manufacturing the same, capable of obtaining sufficient vibration damping effect by disposing a vibration damping member in a clearance between an inner shaft of an integrated heater-inner shaft member in a mechanically-rigid condition, and a shaft hole of a body fitting.SOLUTION: A heater member 20 and the inner shaft 30 are connected to configure an integrated heater-inner shaft member 90 in a mechanically-rigid condition. The vibration-damping member 200 is fixed to a small-diameter section 37 formed on the inner shaft 30. The integrated heater-inner shaft member 90 is configured by retaining the heater member 20 at a tip side of the body fitting 40, and supporting a rear end side of the inner shaft 30 at a rear end side of the body fitting 40. Amplitude of the integrated heater-inner shaft body 90 can be suppressed by the vibration-damping member 200, when resonance occurs on the integrated heater-inner shaft member 90 due to vibration when an internal combustion engine operates. Further, the integrated heater-inner shaft member 90 can be prevented from bending by the mechanically-rigid condition thereof. |
