PURPOSE: A stopper of a continuous casting unit capable of controlling the amount of molten steel supplied from a tundish to a cast is provided to continuously eliminate inclusions such as alumina oxide grown on the inlet of a nozzle during a cast process, thereby improving the efficiency of the continuous casting process. CONSTITUTION: A stopper of a continuous casting unit comprises a stopper body(410) and a rotational flow guide(413). The stopper body is installed in the molten steel outlet of a tundish in an upwardly movable manner to control the amount of molten steel supplied to a case and has a stopper head for opening and closing the molten steel outlet. The rotational flow guide is formed in the upper side of the stopper head in the stopper body and moves between the stopper head and the molten steel outlet to generate a rotational flow in the molten steel supplied to the cast. The rotational flow guide includes at least one spiral groove formed along the upward movement direction of the stopper body. If a plurality of spiral grooves is formed, the spiral grooves are placed at regular or irregular intervals. The depth of the spiral grooves is smaller than the width of the spiral grooves. |
