PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escapement in which a balance can be prevented from exceeding a normal oscillation angle easily and reliably regardless of a rotating direction of the balance, and the oscillation angle can be prevented from being changed by the rotating direction of the balance, and a mechanical timepiece.SOLUTION: An escapement comprises an axle 9 which is supported in a rotatable manner by a bottom board 102, a regulation lever 51 which is provided to be rotatable synchronously with the axle 9, an unlocking jewel 4 which is provided to be rotatable integrally with the axle 9 and can be contacted to and separated from the regulation lever 51, and a regulation pin 55 which is provided in the bottom board 102 and regulates a rotation amount of the regulation lever 51. |
