PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent false recognition of a recording medium uplifted by a disturbance.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a conveying means 170 for conveying a recording medium P; a liquid droplet ejection head 172 configured to eject liquid droplets onto the recording medium P conveyed by the conveying means 170; and an emission means 230 for emitting a detection beam L1 for the recording medium P and a reference beam L2, which is farther from a conveying surface 170A than the detection beam L1, along the conveying surface 170A of the conveying means 170, while being provided on the upstream side of the liquid droplet ejection head 172 in a conveying direction of the recording medium P. The image forming apparatus also includes: a light receiving means 240 for receiving the detection beam L1 and the reference beam L2 emitted from the emitting means 230; and an uplift determination means 260 for determining whether or not the recording medium P is uplifted, on the basis of a difference between the amount of detection beam L1 received and the amount of reference beam L2 received by the light receiving means 240. |
