PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in detecting an object on treads by reducing the influence of an external light source.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor includes: a light emitting unit which emits light toward treads; a plurality of light receiving units each of which receives the light from the light emitting unit and measures the amount of light received thereby; and a recognition unit which compares the amounts of light received by the light receiving units with each other to determine a relation between the amounts of light, and recognizes an abnormal condition when the determined relation does not match a preset relation. |
