PURPOSE: Tobacco inventory management method and apparatus thereof are provided to make responsibility for the former and the latter workers clear and to enable rapid replacement for shiftwork by directly displaying sufficiency and deficiency of inventory on a monitor of point-of-sale (POS) terminal when reading a barcode displayed in the front with a scanner. CONSTITUTION: Amount data read by a barcode scanner (11) of POS terminal from a barcode displayed in the front of each tobacco show window is inputted in a POS system (13) through the POS terminal, and then sufficiency and deficiency of a real tobacco inventory is outputted on a monitor of the POS terminal by comparing the real tobacco inventory data inputted in the way described above with book tobacco inventory data embedded in the POS system. The apparatus consists of a roll spring having each barcode displayed in a location in which the real amount of inserted tobaccos and amount owned by the barcode as data displayed in the case front coincide.
