An isolated antibody, or fragment thereof, that specifically binds human 5T4 antigen, wherein the antibody or antibody fragment comprises an antigen binding domain of, or binds a 5T4 epitope bound by, an antibody comprising a heavy chain variable region having an amino acid sequence set forth as SEQ ID NO:10 and a light chain variable region having an amino acid sequence set forth as SEQ ID NO:12; wherein the antibody or antibody fragment comprises human constant regions; and wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is a chimeric antibody, a humanized antibody, a single chain antibody, a tetrameric antibody, a tetravalent antibody, a multispecific antibody, or a fusion protein.
