PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet device that can easily remove water stains from a lavatory basin that has a photocatalyst layer formed on its surface.SOLUTION: The toilet device comprises: the lavatory basin that has a bowl and the photocatalyst layer formed on a surface of the bowl; water-supply means for supplying washing water to the surface of the bowl; light irradiation means for irradiating the photocatalyst layer with light including ultraviolet rays; means for preventing polymerization of a silicic acid component, which adds a silicic acid component polymerization inhibitor for preventing the polymerization of the silicic acid component in washing water that remains on the surface of the bowl, to the washing water that remains on the surface of the bowl; and a control part for performing such control as to start the irradiation of the light including ultraviolet rays after the operation of the means for preventing the polymerization of the silicic acid component is started. |
