<p>PURPOSE: A side guide liner and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent burr due to impacts by performing heat treatment of a liner material in a predetermined condition. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a side guide liner comprises a step of heat treating a liner material, which comprises C of 0.42-0.48weight%, Si of 0.15-0.35weight%, Mn of 0.60-0.90weight%, P of 0.04weight% or less(0weight% is exclusive), S of 0.04weight% or less(0weight% is exclusive), and Fe and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount, to have a surface hardness(HRC) of 25-35. The heat treatment step comprises preheating the liner material in a 1.1-1.5% carbon atmosphere at 810-840°C for 1-2Hr, carburizing the preheated liner material at 930-980°C for 4-6Hr, lowering the temperature to 800-850°C for 1-3Hr, and air cooling at 450°C or less.
