PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that offers battery performance greater than that of conventional batteries by forming a solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) coating with only a little unevenness on the surface of a negative electrode mixture layer.SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode 20; a nonaqueous electrolyte; and a battery case containing the electrode body and the nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode 20 includes a negative electrode collector 22, and a negative electrode mixture layer 24 containing a negative electrode active material and formed on the surface of the collector, and has an aromatic compound 34 and an oxalato complex compound 32 on the negative electrode mixture layer 24. The distribution of the aromatic compound 34 and the distribution of the oxalato complex compound 32 satisfy that the amount of the aromatic compound 34 is large in a region relatively close to the negative electrode mixture layer, and the amount of the oxalato complex compound 32 is large in a region relatively far from the negative electrode mixture layer. |
