Provided is a shaft-sealing device capable of both maintaining a sealing function and reducing friction in the sealing area. A lip-seal shaft-sealing device provided with a lip seal for sealing the space between a rotating member and a fixed member which are arranged concentrically inside and outside one another in the radial direction thereof, the shaft-sealing device being characterized in that: the outer-circumferential surface of the rotating member has a plurality of aeration-causing parts for causing aeration by the relative rotating and sliding of the lip seal and the rotating member, and formed at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction; the aeration-causing parts are configured in a manner such that a plurality of fine grooves extending in the axial direction of the rotating member are positioned in the circumferential direction thereof; and with the exception of one section on the fluid-to-be-sealed side of the aeration-causing parts, the lip of the lip seal extends in the axial direction on the atmosphere side. |
