PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress density unevenness which appears when deviation in ink discharge position occurs between scannings for recording even in a case in which one or more dots in average per pixel are recorded in multipath recording.SOLUTION: In multipath recording, in order to form an image by a plurality of times of recording scanning by an ink-jet recording head with respect to a single recording region on a recording medium, image data is divided into a plurality of pieces to respectively correspond to the scanning. The plurality of recording elements are divided into a plurality of sections composed of a plurality of continuously arranged recording elements, the plurality of recording elements of each of the plurality of sections are divided into a plurality of blocks, and time-division drive is carried out for each of the blocks. Then, when the plurality of recording elements of the ink-jet recording head are subjected to time-division drive by using the divided image data, control is carried out so that the order of driving the blocks of the time-division drive corresponding to each scanning of the multipath recording becomes different. |
