PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a sheet separated from a fixing part, in a stable position to subsequent conveyance rollers.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus activates a sheet separation fan when determining that the sheet is held between fixing rollers (S100). When the sheet is discharged from the fixing rollers, a sheet loop amount is detected by a sheet loop sensor (S102, S104). When the sheet loop amount is lower than a lower limit, because the sheet can be adsorbed to a heat roller, airflow is controlled so as to increase air quantity over air quantity at a reference fan air quantity setting value (S106, S118). When the sheet loop amount is the lower limit or higher, it is determined whether or not the sheet loop amount is a predetermined upper limit or lower (S108). When the loop amount of the sheet P is over the upper limit, because the position of the sheet during conveyance can be unfavorable, the airflow is controlled so as to decrease the air quantity lower than the air quantity at the reference fan air quantity setting value (S120). |
