PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording system using an active radiation curable ink, which can form a high gloss and high definition image without blurring, and further, which neither cause acid-induced metal corrosion nor cause a failure even when used in electronic materials, and an ink-jet recording apparatus and an ink set used therefor.SOLUTION: A recording method using an active radiation curable ink includes: a step of forming an uncured layer of a first active radiation curable ink (A) on a recording medium; a step of forming a recording pattern on the uncured layer of the ink (A) by ejecting a second active radiation curable ink (B) from a recording head; and a step of curing the ink by irradiating the ink with active radiation rays at the same time as the pattern formation or after the pattern formation; wherein the ink (A) contains at least a photobase generator and a polymerizable monomer component, and the ink (B) contains a pigment and polymerizable monomer component.
