PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out processing when a print instruction expressed by a page description language is parallel processed for each page by a plurality of rendering means.SOLUTION: An entire print job comprising a plurality of pages described by a page description language which is nonindependent of pages is sent to rendering units 531Y to 533Y. An RIP control section 52Y distributes processing requesting commands specifying pages of the print job which require image processing to be carried out to the rendering units 531Y to 533Y. A process state storage section 54Y stores the process state of the rendering units 531Y to 533Y after rendering of preset pages is carried out. The rendering units 531Y to 533Y resume the process state stored in the process state storage section 54Y which corresponds to the rendering of a largest page from among pages not exceeding the pages specified by the distributed processing requesting commands and carries out the rendering of the specified pages. |
