PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle for cortical fixation to be used in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction or the like.SOLUTION: A buckle 12 for cortical fixation has a graft retention loop 14 slidably affixed thereto and can be moved from a first position adjacent to a first end 34 of the buckle 12 to a second position 36 near the midpoint 38 of the buckle 12. The buckle 12, with a graft put over the loop 14, is drawn up lengthwise through a bone tunnel to a tibia and then flipped sideways to be placed on the surface of the bone, and the loop 14 and the graft are suspended into the tunnel. When the loop 14 is freely slidably attached, flipping of the buckle 12 becomes possible, and a flipping distance (that is, the loop of an excess amount needed to be pulled out of the tunnel to allow the buckle 12 to be flipped sideways) is minimized. |
