PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device capable of preventing uneven gloss of a fixing image resulting from a decrease in partial pressing force in a nip, by eliminating even a slight pressure decrease present from the entrance of the nip to the exit thereof.SOLUTION: A pressure belt 22 forms a nip N for a recording material by abutting on a fixed roller 21. A pressure pad 26 is disposed at a curving position of the pressure belt 22 so as not to rotate, thereby continuously pressing the pressure belt 22 toward the fixing roller 21 from the exit of the nip N to the entrance thereof. In the pressure pad 26, the amount by which the pressure pad 26 approaches the fixing roller 21 and compresses an elastic layer 21b decreases without increasing toward the entrance of the nip N from a recording material separation position where the pressure pad 26 approaches the fixing roller 21 on the exit side of the nip N. |
