PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-up display device capable of suppressing a laser beam from being directly output to the outside, and a self-check method for the same.SOLUTION: After a start switch of a vehicle is turned on, light emission means 10 outputs a laser beam for an inspection based on laser beam output data for inspection, which is preliminarily recorded in recording means, and when the light emission means 10 outputs the laser beam for inspection, detects a value of current which flows in the light emission means 10 or first optical intensity which is optical intensity of the laser beam for inspection. Angle adjustment means 301 is controlled so that a position of reflection means 70 is made into an invisible position where the laser beam for inspection is reflected into a housing 80 at least until a predetermined condition is established after the light emission means 10 outputs the laser beam for inspection. |
