PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding seal material for a catalytic converter, by which deterioration with time of bearing pressure is hardly caused.SOLUTION: After forming precursor fiber by an inorganic salt method and baking it, a mat-shaped fiber aggregate is molded by three-dimensionally aggregating alumina-silica-based fiber. Next, a recess-projection structure for sticking and fixing inorganic particles included in a suspended solution to an outer surface of the alumina-silica-based fiber, is formed by supplying the inorganic particle suspended solution in the fiber aggregate and heating and baking it. This fiber aggregate is punched in a predetermined shape and formed as the holding seal material. |
