PURPOSE: A vaccine containing Mycobacterium paratuberculosis and a vaccine composition containing the same are provided to effectively prevent inflammatory bowel disease. CONSTITUTION: A vaccine for preventing and treating inflammatory bowel disease contains Mycobacterium paratuberculosis as an active ingredient. Mycobacterium paratuberculosis is live bacteria or killed bacteria. The inflammatory bowel disease includes ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. A vaccine composition for preventing and treating inflammatory bowel disease contains the vaccine and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or immunoadjuvant.
