The method of producing molybdenum carbide nanoparticles involves dissolving molybdenum pentachloride in ethanol in ratio of 1:(1-3). Urea is added to the obtained solution. Annealing is then carried out in two steps. At the first step, heating is carried out in a vacuum at a rate of not more than 5°C/min to temperature of 430-450°C.
